WWM Commentary

04.17.26

It’s been a good week and the bulls have reason to celebrate.  Investors witnessed a significant rotation from defensive posturing to a full-throttle momentum breakout, as major indices successfully “neutralized” geopolitical risk premiums.  The rally we’ve experienced was fundamentally reinforced by a cooling CPI report, which allowed the market to prioritize growth over inflation fears.

Technically, the "risk-on" sentiment was finally confirmed as the S&P 500 firmly established a price level above its 200-day moving average.  The VIX mirrored this stabilization, easing from its recent highs to settle in the high teens (thus suggesting a contraction in institutional hedging).  One thing to at least be aware of is the S&P 500 Index is now overbought (not a firm reason to sell into the strength, but worth noting).

I want everyone to know, if there is something you have questions about or you have concerns about the recent volatility, please give me a call.  I am happy to review your investments at any time.  Otherwise, have a great weekend!
